Heading out!
After two days of rest, adjusting, team unity, and prep work we are leaving our beautiful home (YWAM Paisley). Please pray for us as we have a 12 hour day of travel today.

We Are Here!
After lots of prayers, and hours of travel, we are here! Thankfully, everything ran smoothly except for a hiccup with border control. However, there is power in prayer and we hit the ground running in Scotland.
After Lance and Heather (our missionaries) picked us up at the airport, we went to the Stanely House in Paisley which is a YWAM base, and got to tour our home for the next two days. The house was built in the 1800s and is full of history and culture. The view is absolutely breathtaking and it feels like a dream. After the Stanely House, we went to another YWAM base in West Kilbride to get a feel for life there and see a different area. It was so fun to see where Dani Luyo lives, for those of us who know and love her.
From there, we loaded up in the van to visit some castle ruins from the 1300s. The castle sat right on the beach, and we got to climb all around it on the rocks. Everywhere displays God's creativity and beauty, but it is so evident in Scotland. You can't deny Him when you're standing in a place like this. It's unreal.
After the castle and the rocky beach, we rode to a more sandy beach, with lots of room to run and take in all the scenery. We collected rocks and shells, threw the football, and played with several of the dogs on the beach.
To end the day, we spent time at Lance and Heather's house with their family. We walked to a local restaurant to pick up fish and chips for dinner. We brought it back to the house to eat together, and spent time playing basketball, jumping on the trampoline, and just enjoying each others company.
After a long day, we are settled back at the Stanely House, and so ready for bed. One more day to adjust and prepare before going our separate ways to The Isle of Lewis and Inverness.

The Big Day
As I'm writing this at 2:08 am, I can officially say that today is the day we leave for Scotland. We've been waiting and praying for this day for months, and it's finally here. We are packed and ready to go, we have raised the funds that we needed, but we are still in need of one thing, and that is prayer. Please join us in praying for these 14 days that we will be serving the beautiful people of Scotland.
Here are some specific ways to pray:
1) Pray that the door to relationship is opened. We are hoping for intimate and real relationships with the Scottish people that we encounter.
2) Pray for open hearts. Many of the people we are serving have not heard of Jesus, or have a hardened heart towards Him. Please join us in praying that our God will shape and mold the hearts of all that we come in contact with.
3) Pray for unity amount the team. It is much harder to love the people of Scotland if we can not first love the people who came with us. Pray for understanding, patience, kindness, and availability among the team.
4) Finally, pray for flexibility. On a trip such as this, things rarely go as planned. Pray that we bring glory to God no matter what the circumstances.

"By the Word of Their Testimony"
One assignment that our team has been given was to put their testimony into five sentences and come ready to share it at our team meeting. Have you tried it? It is easier said than done! The Word tells us, "And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony" Revelation 12:11. We are each called to share what Jesus has done for us. He also tells us to go and make disciples--so we should be ready at all times.
I had the privilege of hearing a speaker at our church recently and hearing him at both of our services. At the first service he shared his testimony in full length for the whole service. At service number two, he shared it in about 20 seconds...and it was just as powerful! I walked away from that experience to be prepared at any moment and to share the redemption that Jesus has done in my life! Even if I have 20 seconds to share with someone, Jesus can use it! To God be the Glory for what He has done and is doing. May I shout it from the rooftops!
As our Scotland team prepares their hearts and gets out of their comfort zones, we encourage you to join us! Pray for us as the Lord stirs this up in us! Join us in writing out and practice putting what God has done in your life into five sentences--and then share it! Be bold, be authentic, be the hands and feet of Jesus. Who do you know that needs to meet the One that came to set the captive free? For He is the One that conquered all.
